Chiropractic
The chiropractic examination identifies the restricted or abnormally moving joints (especially in the spine, but many of us also treat the extremity joints.)Then the chiropractor performs corrective manipulation of the joint called an "adjustment" to restore normal (or at least improved) motion to the troubled joint.Adjustments help relieve pain as well as restore and maintain normal movement, biomechanics and function. Improving joint function is the key to long term pain relief. Failure to restore function means any pain relief is temporary and increases the risk of chronic pain.
Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy comes in many forms including Electrical Muscle Stimulation, Intersegmental Traction, Trigger Point Therapy, Ultrasound, Heat Therapy, Ice Therapy, Traction, and Orthotics. Upon your professional assessment, one of our qualified doctors will prescribe the correct therapy for you.
Exercise Therapy
Exercise Therapy is a set of repetitive stretching or strengthening maneuvers designed to develop weakened muscle groups that support the spine. Specific exercises help rehabilitate and stabilize the spine. The individual bones of the spine are held in place by muscles and ligaments. Proper motion and position of these bones are crucial for proper nervous system function, correct posture, and good health. Exercise and repeated maneuvers help re-pattern and condition these connective tissue.
Children's Therapy
Many spinal problems seen in adults begin in childhood. Proper spinal hygiene is an important key to better health. Do you know a child who could benefit from chiropractic care? Chiropractic adjusting techniques are modified to fit a child's size, weight, and unique spinal problem. Children enjoy their adjustments; parents often report that their children seem healthier than other kids their age. Regular chiropractic checkups are especially beneficial as head support and natural spinal curves are established.
Manipulation Under Anesthesia
Manipulation Under Anesthesia (MUA), is a non-invasive procedure increasingly offered for acute and chronic conditions, including: neck pain, back pain, joint pain, muscle spasm, shortened muscles, fibrous adhesions and long term pain syndromes. It is generally considered safe and is utilized to treat pain arising from the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine as well as the sacroiliac and pelvic regions. Manipulation under anesthesia uses a combination of specific short lever manipulations, passive stretches and specific articular and postural kinesthetic maneuvers in order to break up fibrous adhesions and scar tissue around the spine and surrounding tissue.
Certified Disability Evaluations
Independent medical examinations (IMEs) are evaluations performed by an evaluator not involved in the care of the examinee, for clarifying clinical and case issues. IMEs are an important component of workers’ compensation systems, and are also used to clarify other disability or liability associated cases. Impairment evaluations are often used to provide a more objective understanding of the impact of an injury or illness.
